Excuses!!!

For any evangelist who has ever gone to preach the gospel they have encountered several excuses from non-believers as to why they would not, could not or should not give their lives to Christ. All these are deceptions from the enemy who has tampered with their thoughts thus stealing the word of God which is impacted on them. Hardly ever will you encounter a creation who denies his/her Creator out rightly, they know they need Him but they are fed lies by the deceiver of men, the accuser of brethren, satan.

Some of these excuses include:

·         "There is no god, it’s just an adult fairy tale!"

 This gives rise to

o   Atheists

o   Evolutionists (believe that the universe evolved rather than was created)

o   Scientologists

o   Biblical critics (look for flaws in the bible thus discrediting the authority of scriptures)

§  What I believe is that we are all born believers, only that we try to excuse ourselves from taking up responsibility of our actions and having to face the guilty conscience (the spirit whom God put in us correcting us) by trying to discredit God Himself.

§  In other words, God is more than real because without Him there would be no existence at all, but need I say more than what God is telling you right now?

·        "I am too sinful and thus I am not acceptable before God."

 I have news for those who are in this category, none of us is ever worthy to stand before the Maker, Yahweh,

o   (Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

o   And if you really want to know how much you shall be purified before God, just read Romans 5, verse 8 is a must read! (But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.)

§  Jesus cares little about your past, he is more concerned with your future. He loves us so much that He is willing to bleed out so that you don’t have to face retribution for your sins, He is willing to forgive you… if you forgive yourself.

·         "Even Christians are sinners!"

News flash! Everyone is a sinner,

o    Romans 3:10 “as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one”

o    but those who are in Christ are saved by grace (undeserved favour) not by what they do! Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” So join us who are heading to heaven and be renewed daily in His word.

§  Just a question, are you really going to get lost all because those who are not lost occasionally miss the way, really??? Its your life dude, not someone else!!

·        "God’s standards are too high."

 In fact, they are too high because He is perfect.

o    Matthew 5:48 (Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect)

o   BUT He promises us His grace in every time of need! (2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”)

§  Long before you start complaining that His standards are High, have you really tried actually living them, with His help? He is more concerned with you rather than with what you do.

·         "I cannot make it, I’ll just stumble and fall back to sin, so what’s the point?!"

 You are right once again, on your own you can’t be victorious,

o   (Mark 10:26-27, “And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

o   Jesus did not say improbable, or its Hard, He said IMPOSSIBLE! But He does promise us that He is able to keep us from falling!!! Jude 1:24-25 “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

§  I understand why you may have little faith in yourself, but why in God? What good reason has He given you to believe that He is incapable?

·         "Jesus is not the only way, what about all those who have never heard of Him, what happens to them when they die? Isn’t it unfair of God to condemn them!"

 Listen carefully to God’s word.

o   Romans 2:12-13 “Ro. 2:12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.”

o   How will I know the Law? Hebrews 8:10 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God and they shall be to me a people:”

§  Point is, if there was any other way that salvation could have come on earth, then trust me Jesus would not have died!!!

Here are the facts, let the devil not deceive you. There is really no good reason for you not to be a Christian, you have the Maker of the Universe on your side, patiently supporting you and fiercely fighting for you. He paid the ultimate price and utterly conquered sin and death, our mortal enemies! What more do you need?

COME ABOARD COME ABOARD… BEFORE THE SHIP SAILS AWAY!!!
